Chisinau, 10 August /MOLDPRES/- The report of the Court of Accounts on the authenticity of the financial statements related to the implementation of the “Education Reform in Moldova” project for 2016 will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 11 August.
According to data in the report, to successfully implement the education reform, the Moldovan government and the International Development Association signed a financing agreement in 2013 to get a 40-million-dollar credit for five years.
The audit found the reduced institutional capacity of the Education Ministry to turn to good account external financial means, which reveals the risk of non-implementation in time of the project. Thus, according to the financing agreement, 16 disbursement indicators were set for the components I and II, being planned disbursements amounting to 38.5 million dollars.
The Court of Accounts also found that the Education Ministry submitted to the World Bank incomplete data on the costs of remuneration for teachers’ work on 31 December 2016, without data on actual expenditures, claims and creditor debt.
