Moldova ratifies new agreement with Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDS

Chisinau, 10 August /MOLDPRES/- The presidential decree on promulgation of the law on ratification of the framework agreement between Moldova and the Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, concluded on 16 March 2017 in Geneva, will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 11 August.
The document sees a new installment of 7 million euros as financial aid for the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. The mechanism for accessing money is set by the Global Fund regulation. Moldova has accessed 4 grants from the Global Fund so far, amounting to 40 million dollars.
According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, money got under the above-mentioned agreement will be largely used to buy medicines for tuberculosis or HIV/AIDS infected people to receive free treatment and diagnosis, whether or not they are insured.
