National agency for energy regulation to develop new methodology for calculating tariff for natural gas transport in Moldova

Chisinau, 10 August /MOLDPRES/ – The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) will elaborate a new methodology for calculating the tariff for the natural gas transport service. The project is financed by the Secretariat of the Energy Community.

The ANRE’s press service has reported that after the entry into force of the new tariff methodology, it will be possible for the Agency to approve tariffs for all points of entry and exit of the natural gas transmission system, as required by European Directive 2009/73/CE.

The elaboration of the project on the Methodology for calculation and application of the regulated tariffs for the natural gas transport service is stipulated by the Action Plan for Reforming the Energy Sector, part of the Loan Contract for financing the construction of the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline by the development partners: the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank.
