Moldovan premier at Chamber of Commerce, Industry Congress says, business environment is foundation for country’s development

Chisinau, 10 August /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip participated at the IV Congress of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova (CCI) today, together with 175 delegates of the CCI, invited by the relevant institutions from Moldova and abroad, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
In his speech, the Prime Minister appreciated the activity of the institution and its role in supporting entrepreneurial activity, in international cooperation on that segment and in elaboration of the public policies in the economic field. The Prime Minister also referred to the partnership between the Government and the business environment aimed at increasing the economy of Moldova with the contribution of investments, thus stimulating the creation of new paid jobs.
"The Republic of Moldova must grow on three important pillars: the rule of law, education and a developed infrastructure. When you can not invest, you can not have a quality education or a modernized infrastructure. The business environment is the foundation for the development of a country," said the Premier.
In this context, Pavel Filip specified the steps taken by the Executive to reduce the administrative pressure on entrepreneurs, such as: the six-month moratorium on controls, reduction of 250 permissive acts, the promotion of amendments to the state control legislation, from 58 to 13 plus five more national regulators.
Also, the PM reiterated other measures launched by the Government to improve the business environment, specifying: simplification and unification of financial reporting for economic agents through the Single Window, to be launched shortly, combating the phenomenon of wages in the envelope, as well as development of several tools to motivate economic agents to operate legally and comply with the tax regime.
Finally, the Prime Minister assured that the Executive would continue to pursue the implementation of reforms and measures aimed at the business environment, including through the platform of the Economic Council attached to the Prime Minister, the Chamber of Commerce being its active member.
The ordinary Congress of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is held every five years to elect the Council, the Censors' Commission and the CCI President. Also, at Congress of 2017, there were presented the CCI’s main directions and activity programs for 2017-2022.
