Over 5,000 study places remain uncovered after enrollment in universities of Moldova

Chisinau, 11 August /MOLDPRES/ – More than 5,000 study places were not covered in higher education institutions.

The education, culture and research ministry’s press service has announced today that out of the total number of uncovered places over 1,100 are budget-financed and about 4,000 are on contract.

At the same time, the private higher education institutions, at the Bachelor's Cycle I, have completed the Admission Plan in the proportion of 42.4 per cent. Thus, only about a thousand people were enrolled, and over 1300 places remained uncovered.

The results of enrollment in Master's degree studies show that the Admission Plan was 64 per cent. Thus, public institutions have fulfilled the plan of 72.6 per cent, with over 1,400 seats uncovered, out of which 39 in the budget. Also, private institutions have completed the admission plan in the proportion of 15.5 per cent, with uncovered places of about 800.

The State University of Medicine and Pharmacy N. Testemitanu and Academy of the Ministry of Interior Affairs Stefan cel Mare concluded admission in the basic session.

In this session, the most demanded specialties are: law, finance, journalism and media processes, accounting, information and communication technologies, architecture, technology and management of public nutrition, veterinary medicine, biomedical engineering, medicine and pedagogy.

After admission to the first session, 16 public and 11 private institutions propose for the additional session over 6,600 places, out of which around 1,100 to the budget and 5,450 to the contract. The young people can choose from 140 specialties with different areas of vocational training.
