Moldovan agricultural producer groups may apply for grant of up to 350,000 dollars

Chisinau, 15 August /MOLDPRES/- Producer groups operating in the horticultural sector may apply for non-refundable financing of up to 350,000 dollars on 15 August-1 November for the procurement of technological equipment and post-harvest equipment – sorting, washing, calibration, packing, drying, refrigeration equipment. The money will be provided under the World Bank project “Competitive Agriculture in Moldova”.
According to a press release by the Agency of Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA), the applications for funding may be submitted to the investment grant program “Enhancing Market Access Potential”, at the AIPA territorial offices.
To qualify for the grant, the above-mentioned groups must consist of at least 5 members (legal entities and/or private people) with individual activity of at least 3 years in the horticultural sector and to provide co-financing of at least 50 per cent of the eligible costs.
The grant program is the sixth round of implementation. Since the launch of the program in 2014 and so far, 30 groups have been funded, bringing together 161 farmers in the horticultural sector. The total amount of grant resources is amounting to 7.5 million dollars, and co-financing provided by the producer groups is about 8.6 million dollars.
