Meteorologists announce new yellow code of heat in upcoming days in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 August /MOLDPRES/- The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) today announced the Yellow Code of Heat for 16 – 22 August.

According to meteorologists, the maximum air temperature in the upcoming days will reach values of +35 degrees and more.

The minimum air temperature of +17 degrees is expected on the night in the northern country, and +35 degrees during the day in the southern country.

The doctors warn the population, especially those ones with chronic illnesses, elderly people, pregnant women and children, to avoid exposure to the sun during the hot period hours. It is advised not to neglect hydration, excluding the alcoholic beverages’ consumption.

At their turn, the veterinary inspectors recall the risk of dietary toxins, which is increased on hot days, warning that food storage conditions, especially for products which are easily altered, should be respected.
