Diaspora Days to be held under patronage of Moldovan government

Chisinau, 16 August /MOLDPRES/- Starting from 18 August 2017, festive events, artistic and sports activities dedicated to Diaspora Days in Moldova will be held under the patronage of the government, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Thus, on 18-20 August the Diaspora Relations Bureau (BRD) will hold the Open Doors Day at the government, International Festival Gustar and mini-football diaspora Cup. At the same time, the local public administrations in 14 districts will carry out book and photo exhibitions, informative lessons, concerts, thematic meetings, round tables and instructive workshops for studying the mother tongue for migrant children.
On 22 August, the official opening of the fifth issue of the DOR program (Diaspora, Origin, Return) will take place in Holercani. It will bring together one hundred children from 14 countries, aged between 12-17 years. Participants will be able to know the language, traditions and history of our country within different interactive activities, theatre workshops and excursions.
Each year, at the end of the third week of August, diaspora events are organized in order to promote the cultural and economic dialogue with the citizens who have gone abroad and to plan joint actions meant to contribute to the sustainable development of Moldova.
