Moldovan deputy premier meets European official

Chisinau, 16 August /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan and Head of the EU Delegation Pirkka Tapiola had a meeting on conclusion of mandate of the diplomat in Chisinau, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
In this respect, Balan thanked Tapiola for the support, good relations between Moldova and EU and active involvement in the Transnistrian settlement process.
Also, the deputy premier informed the European official about the latest developments in the negotiations, referring to the situation in the Latin script schools, barriers to free movement in the settlements in the eastern districts of the country, problems faced by farmers in Dubasari district, as well as issues related to the telecommunication, road and rail transport.
For his part, Tapiola noted that the EU would further back Moldova in promoting the structural reforms and projects for confidence building measures between the two banks of the Dniestre, as well as would mobilize efforts to identify ways to advance in the Transnistrian conflict settlement.
At the end of the meeting, Balan wished fruitful achievements in the work that will be continued by Tapiola.
