Moldovan economy, infrastructure ministry to set transport development programme

Chisinau, August 17 /MOLDPRES/ – The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, after taking over the tasks in the field of transport, will shortly come with a program of development of the respective segment on all dimensions. Deputy Prime Minister, Octavian Calmic, Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, made an announcement in this regard during an informal meeting with representatives of more companies specialized in international freight transport.
"The preliminary analyzes indicate the existence of a highly bureaucratic system in the relationship between the carrier and the line structure, which issues the necessary documents for the provision of goods transport services. We shall liberalize all procedures for issuing permits for transit of goods, transit through the territory of foreign states, as well as other documents necessary for the efficient activity of the economic agents in the field," said the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure.
In this context, Deputy Prime Minister, Octavian Calmic, requested from the economic agents a detailed analysis of the situation in the field and their proposals for overcoming the problems that hinder the sphere development. The Minister also asked transport operators to provide estimates of the number of freight transport permits through the territory of Ukraine, Turkey, the Russian Federation and other states, to be negotiated in the joint commissions of those countries.
The representatives of transport companies informed the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure that they would come up soon with an analysis of the situation in the domain, as well as with proposals to solve many of the existing issues. The interlocutors agreed that such meetings would become regular because, in the opinion of the participants, the direct dialogue between the authorities and the economic agents would contribute to the given sector development.
