Moldovan foreign ministry condemns terrorist attack in Barcelona

Chisinau, 18 August /MOLDPRES/- The Foreign and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) strongly condemns the terrorist attack occurred in Barcelona, Spain, on 17 August 2017, resulting in loss of human lives and more injured people, the MAEIE’s communication and media relations service has reported.
Representatives of the diplomatic mission of Moldova in Madrid take steps to verify that among those affected were Moldovans.
The ministry expresses its solidarity with Spanish authorities, deep regret for the loss of human lives and compassion for the grieving families.
The ministry reiterates Moldova’s strong commitment to combat all forms of terrorism and reaffirms the need to join and boost international efforts to combat them.
In the afternoon of yesterday, a white minibus entered the crowd in La Rambla region, Barcelona, Spain.
There are people dead and injured, and the exact number of victims is being established.
The Embassy of Moldova in Spain is in contact with local authorities to determine if among the victims were citizens of Moldova.
