Moldovan PM expresses condolences to Spanish people on terrorist attacks

Chisinau, 18 August /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip today conveyed a message of condolences and solidarity to Spanish Premier Mariano Rajoy and citizens of Spain on the terrorist attacks that took place in Barcelona and Cambrils on 17 August, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
“I express our feelings of deep compassion and solidarity with the Spanish people in these difficult moments. We strongly condemn such acts of cruelty and violence against innocent people. Please send, dear Mr. Prime Minister, sincere condolences to the families and relatives of the victims, as well as speedy recovery to those injured”, the message by Filip reads.
In the afternoon of 17 August 2017, a minibus entered the crowd in Rambla, Barcelona. According to the latest data, 13 people lost their lives and at least 80 were injured. Police announced the arrest of two suspects, and the Islamic State claimed the attack.
Another attack occurred Thursday night in Camrils. Spanish police have killed five terrorists who injured six people, being suspected connection with the attack in Barcelona.
Currently, representatives of diplomatic mission of Moldova in Madrid take steps with the local authorities to verify if among those affected are Moldovans. Under the latest information, among the victims there are not citizens of Moldova.
