Petrol, diesel fuel cheapen after price increase over six weeks in Moldova

Chisinau, 22 August /MOLDPRES/ – The National Regulatory Agency for Energy (ANRE) established today, the price of trading of the most demanded Premium-95 fuel at MDL 16.95 per litre, compared to MDL 17.06 before, and for Diesel petrol of MDL 14.55, for 23 August – 05 September, by 22 bani cheaper than the previous period level.
After a six-week period when pump prices rose, this tendency has reversed. The new petrol and diesel prices will be implemented since 22 – 23 August midnight and will be valid until 05 September. The operators will not have the right to retail fuel at prices higher than those set by ANRE.
The international stock prices have fallen sharply on Monday, despite forecasts of oil production cuts in the USA and the problems faced by one of Libya's largest oil fields. The experts explain the drop in quotations by investors making profits after a significant increase in oil cost by the end of last week. The Brent oil price was $51.31 per barrel on Monday evening, down by 2.58 per cent.
The Brent oil price will fluctuate between $48 and $55 per barrel by the end of summer 2017, according to the international experts.
According to the National Bank of Moldova (BNM), the average annual price of fuel will consist 6.1 and 0.6 per cent in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
