Moldovan cabinet of ministers approves decision on national prize award

Chisinau, 23 August /MOLDPRES/ – The Cabinet of Ministers approved the decision on the award of the National Prize today. Eleven personalities from the fields of science, culture, arts and sports will receive prizes within a gala.

The National Award 2017 will be given to the following persons:

In the field of science:

Dragos Vicol, Ph.D., professor, for the phenomenology of culture research;

Gheorghe Baciu, Ph.D. in medical sciences, university professor, for his personal contribution to the development of the National Legal Medicine Service and the journalistic activity of with a historical-medical character;

Dmitri Parmacli, PhD in economy, professor of economics;

Alexandru Stratan, PhD, professor in economics, university professor, for the research cycle in the field of potential development and increasing the economic efficiency of agriculture;

Gheorghe Postica, Ph.D., professor, for the realization of the fundamental scientific researches on medieval civilization and elaboration of the theoretical and applied studies of safeguarding and valorizing the national cultural patrimony.

In the field of culture and arts:

Teodor Chiriac, writer, translator, for the literary work and the promotion of the national patrimony written abroad;

Leon Stirbu, composer, for Opera Omnia;

Iurie Sadovnic, interpreter and author, for Opera Omnia;

Alexandru Cozub, actor and theatre director, for the originality of the guided performances, the promotion of national theatrical art abroad and innovative theatrical management;

Igor Cobaleanschi, film director, screenwriter, publisher, for his substantial contribution to increasing the quality and visibility of the local cinema product.

In the field of sports:

Larisa Popova, Olympic champion, for all sports and promotion of the Olympic movement.
