Political representatives in negotiations for Transnistrian settlement had meeting in Bender

Chisinau, 23 August /MOLDPRES/- A working meeting between political representatives in the negotiations for the Transnistrian settlement Gheorghe Balan and Vitalii Ignatiev took place at the OSCE Mission to Moldova in Bender. Attending the event were representatives of mediators and observers of the 5+2 format, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
The dialogue was focused on a wide range of current topics on the agenda of negotiations. The political representatives assessed the level of implementation of agreements reached previously and expressed their willingness to continue technical discussions and reach reasonable approaches.
In the context, the sides stressed the importance of boosting the interaction of experts in sectoral working groups to remove barriers to the free movement of people, means of transport, goods and services, ensuring free access of farmers from Dubasari district to agricultural land, creating conditions necessary for good functioning of the Latin-script schools in the Transnistrian region etc.
Balan noted that Moldovan authorities were open to a constructive dialogue with all actors involved in the regulatory process to solve the urgent problems faced by the residents of both banks of the Dniestre.
