Members of superior council of magistracy, heads of courts to have access to state secrets in Moldova

Chisinau, 24 August /MOLDPRES/ – The President of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) and the heads of the courts will have the right to access to the state secret, according to a legislative amendment that will be published tomorrow in the Official Journal of Moldova.

According to the amendments, the right of access to the state secret will be granted to the Chairman of the CSM, and he will have the right to access the state secret to the other members of the Council. However, the CSM members will be able to analyze and appreciate objectively the judges, as well as the candidates for the position of judge.

Also, on 25 August 2017, it will be published in the Official Journal the entire list of the positions whose titulars have the right of access to the state secret. The head of public authorities, such as the director of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA), the general director of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE), the chairman of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), the chairman of the Audiovisual Coordination Council (CCA), the president of the National Integrity Authority (ANI), etc., can be found in the document.

In order to keep the state secrets, there will be a 10 per cent increase to the salary. Thus, the general secretaries of the Presidency and Parliament will receive MDL 400. The salary increase of the President of the Coordinating Council of the Audiovisual, of the director of the State Archive Service or of the Director of the National Agency for Energy Regulation – MDL 650. The general mayor of Chisinau – MDL 950 in addition to the salary and the director of the CNA– MDL 1,050. The remuneration of court heads will range from –1,700 to MDL 2,500 and the head of CSM – MDL 2,525, as a supplement.
