10:18 | 25.08.2017 Category: Economic

Chisinau, 25 August /MOLDPRES/- The Moldovan economy has recently returned to a growing trajectory. According to the current projection, the trend will grow at the same level after 2017, the authors of a study published by the German Economic Team (EGT) said.

GET experts note that the Moldovan economy has been largely recovered and the main macroeconomic indicators are on the rise. The analysis shows that the growth potential, still not fully used, can be achieved through structural reforms similar to those currently underway in the banking sector with the support of IMF.

In 2017, there is the possibility to resume and consolidate public investment along with growth of lending to economic agents through the banking sector.

GET Moldova is a group of economists providing analytical consultations for the public, private, NGO sector. Starting with 2010, GET maintains the dialogue on economic policies with the government and is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy.

According to the National Statistics Bureau, Gross Domestic Product increased by 3.1 per cent against the same period of 2016 reaching 29 billion 670 million lei, current market prices. The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure expects this year to grow by 4.5 per cent. For 2017-2020, GDP is expected to grow by 3.5-4.5 per cent annually. The increase will be driven by the improvement of the global economic context, more intense export promotion, development and support of enterprises in private sector by the state, continued reforms and other factors, the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure noted.
