Prime minister meets head of OSCE Mission to Moldova

Chisinau, 25 August /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip received the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Ambassador Michael Scanlan, today, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The two officials assessed the dynamics of the dialogue on issues concerning the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict and discussed the immediate tasks and objectives. Prime Minister Pavel Filip reiterated the opening of the Moldovan authorities to identify solutions in the Transnistrian case and confirmed the need to promote a political vision on the special legal status of the Transnistrian region, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova.
In this context, the Prime Minister reviewed the main actions of the Government in implementation of the central public administration reform, in which the potential and capabilities of the Reintegration Policy Office would be strengthened.
During the meeting, the issues related to mandate of the OSCE Mission as well as developments related to the memory of the Holocaust, strengthening interethnic relations and ATU Gagauzia were also addressed. In particular, Ambassador Michael Scanlan welcomed the Government's approval of the Strategy for Enhanced Interethnic Relations in Moldova for 2017 – 2027, mentioning the importance of developing of the first Plan of Sustainable and Balanced Actions for 2017 – 2020 for effective implementation of the Strategy's provisions. In this respect, Premier Pavel Filip confirmed the Government's willingness to ensure optimal conditions for the integration of national minorities into society and also informed about the positive developments regarding the opening of the Holocaust museum in Chisinau.
