Moldovan academy of sciences launches first political encyclopedia

Chisinau, 25 August /MOLDPRES/ – The first political encyclopedia in collection People of Moldova was launched at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM) today. The event was organized on occasion of the Independence Day of Moldova.

The edition is a product of the image consulting and promotion company of Poliexpert, led by writer and journalist Igor Volnitchi, in partnership with the ASM.

The work appeared under the patronage of the President of the ASM, academician Gheorghe Duca, with the financial support of the Azerbaijani Congress of Moldova, the American University of Moldova and the University of European Political and Economic Studies Constantin Stere.

Interviewed by the agency, Director of Poliexpert Company, Igor Volnitchi, the author of the idea, mentioned that the first political encyclopedia of Moldova has been a unique product, at elaboration of which had participated the whole team led by him.

"This encyclopedia contains short biographical notes about all those who, in 26 years of independence, have held positions of Presidents, Prime Ministers, Parliament Speakers, Ministers and MPs. There are 1,115 personalities who took the oath of Moldova and worked under the tricolor and under the coat of arms of Moldova," said Igor Volnitchi.

At his turn, the President of the ASM, Gheorghe Duca, said that that encyclopedia was designed as a database of those ones who contributed to the development of Moldova.

The persons included in the book expressed opinions referred to it, such as: Dumitru Diacov, Valeriu Muravschi, Igor Corman, Dumitru Braghis, Valentin Dolganiuc, Liliana Palihovici, Anatol Taranu, Victor Stepaniuc, and the President of the Azerbaijani Congress of Moldova, Vugar Novruzov, academician Vasile Micu, rector of the University of Economic and European Political Studies Constantin Stere, Gheorghe Avornic and others.

The first political encyclopedia People of Moldova appeared in a print run of 1,000 copies. One third of the circulation was distributed to public libraries free of charge.
