Moldovan PM attends National Prize Gala 2017

Chisinau, 27 August /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip participated in National Prize Gala 2017 on 26 August, dedicated to the 26th anniversary of proclamation of Independence of Moldova. In his speech, the premier expressed his gratitude to Prize winners, stressing the value of scientific, technological, cultural creations and sports performances for the country, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

“We are a hardworking and talented people, and this is seen in the work of those who are rewarded each year within this Gala. The today’s event confirms once again that our country produces values and together we prove we are performing and we can put our shoulder to what we call development and progress”, Filip said.

At the same time, the premier underlined that the innovative spirit will be promoted, and the government will continue to make efforts to support those who through honest work bring value to our society and serve as an example for generations.

At the same time, the premier urged the distinguished personalities of our country to attend the upcoming editions of the National Prize: “I want to thank all those who have joined this competition and I encourage you not to stop here, because the biggest barrier to success is self-esteem. I urge you to propose new goals and dare to touch them”.

For their part, the laureates thanked the government and members of the assessment committee for appreciation of the results, noting that the National Prize will serve as inspiration for achieving further progress in their fields of activity.

The National Prize worth 100,000 lei is given to Moldovan citizens for outstanding achievements that have substantially enriched science, technology, culture, art and sport, and have had a significant impact on technical, scientific and social and economic progress, on national and world culture. The winners of the National Prize are selected on a contest basis.
