Moldovan PM: I strongly believe in future of country

Chisinau, 27 August /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip today participated in events dedicated to the 26th anniversary of proclamation of Independence of Moldova, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
At the event, the premier conveyed a congratulatory message to citizens of the country. He said that achievement of independence is due, besides favorable geopolitical circumstances, to the courage and political will of a remarkable generation.
The premier reminded that during the 26 years, various events occurred: “we had more promises than achievements, more disappointments that accomplishments, more poverty that welfare. Expectations have been and remain enormous. But great expectations demand great responsibility, much patience, sacrifice and very much work.”
The official noted that for eight years, with success and failures, Moldova follows the European integration path and to achieve this goal, unity and solidarity is needed.
“I strongly believe in the future of Moldova. Moldova will become a strong country. We must respect each other for this. Do not divide our society. On the contrary, we have to unite. Then every citizen will be able to fully achieve his creative potential here at home, will live a nice life with dear friends and will be proud to say: here is my Homeland- Republic of Moldova”, Filip said.
The program of events takes place throughout the day and includes folk music recitals, and folk bands.
Cultural events take place in the country’s districts.
The Declaration of Independence of Moldova was adopted and signed on 27 August 1991.
