UNDP reconfirms support in development, modernisation of Moldova

Chisinau, 22 September /MOLDPRES/- The projects implemented in Moldova with the support of UNDP and the possibilities for boosting cooperation between the sides were discussed in New York at a meeting between Prime Minister Pavel Filip and United Nations Development Program Administrator Achim Steiner, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The premier praised the UN role in the modernization of the country, noting the valuable assistance in achieving development priorities of the country, including through the active involvement of the UN team in the re-evaluation of the Moldova 2020 National Development Strategy. In this context, Filip thanked the high official for the support provided in the nationalization of the sustainable development goals embodied in the future strategy Moldova 2030.
The premier referred to the approval of the new country program for 2018-2022, which is the result of a comprehensive national consultation process and reflects the development priorities of Moldova. “We will continue to build a trust-based relationship to ensure effective implementation of the new country program”, he said.
For his part, the UNDP high official voiced openness to cooperation and full support in development and modernization of Moldova.
The officials opted for increased dialogue between the Moldovan government and UNDP and the successful achievement of sustainable development goals.
