Moldova to give all necessary support to achieve UN goals - PM says

Chisinau, 22 September /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip has met President of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly Miroslav Lajcak, in New York, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The premier congratulated Lajcak on his election as President of the UN General Assembly and wished him success in achieving the goals. Also, Filip said that Moldova backs efforts to reform the organization and to promote decisions that serve the common interest of humanity.
The officials exchanged views on the agenda of session of the UN General Assembly. In this context, Filip reiterated the Moldovan authorities’ request to include the issue referring to the withdrawal of foreign troops from Moldova on the agenda of talks. “We do not want to politicize this issue, and a fair and transparent debate within the General Assembly will help find viable solutions to the Transnistrian conflict”, Filip said.
For his part, Miroslav Lajcak talked about the priorities of UN assistance, including: peacekeeping, addressing migration, promoting reforms to ensure security and sustainable development. Filip said that the goals are very important for the country and assured that Moldova will give all necessary support to achieve them.
