Moldovan deputy foreign minister meets OSCE Secretary General in New York

Chisinau, 22 September /MOLDPRES/- On the margin of the High-level Segment of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Lilian Darii, had a meeting on 21 September, with the OSCE Secretary General, Ambassador Thomas Greminger, the MAEIE's strategic communication and media relations service has reported.
The discussions included priority issues for the Republic of Moldova, including the issue of Transnistrian conflict settlement and strengthening the OSCE mandate in the Republic of Moldova. The two officials elaborated on practical steps to advance the Transnistrian file and ensure the engagement of all stakeholders. They also made an exchange of views on the perspectives of a new meeting of the “5+2” format and expectations regarding the results of the OSCE Ministerial Council to be held in Vienna in December this year.
Deputy Minister Darii stressed the priority that the Republic of Moldova attributes to the withdrawal of foreign troops and ammunition deployed on the left bank of Nistru river, noting the importance of the Organization’s support in this respect.
