Chisinau, 25 September /MOLDPRES/ - A municipal councilor, Oleg Oniscenco, has given up his mandate. The head of the Socialists’ faction in the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), Ion Ceban, made the announcement on a social networking.
According to an application attached, Oniscenco gave up the mandate at his own initiative, with the document signed on 22 September.
Oleg Oniscenco was elected municipal councilor on the lists of the Party of Socialists (PSRM). Afterwards, he was excluded from CMC’s PSRM faction, after he had violated more decisions of the Socialists by voting along with the local authorities on behalf of the Liberal Party.
Councilor Oleg Oniscenco in May 2017 was detained along with another nine persons in files on deeds of passive corruption, influence peddling and abuse of power.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, Ion Ceban said that “the mandate of councilor in CMC would be given to Valerii Botea, who is mechanic by profession, guard chief and political scientist.”
The Socialists’ faction in CMC is made up of 19 councilors.
