Moldovan foreign affairs minister meets Cypriot counterpart

Chisinau, 26 September /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur today had a meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister of Cyprus Ioannis Kasoulides, on a working meeting to Chisinau, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
The minister assessed the entire spectrum of the Moldovan-Cypriot bilateral agenda and agreed on undertaking needed measures for the advancement of cooperation in all sectors of mutual interest. In particular, the sides reconfirmed the mutual support of the two states’ territorial integrity. The officials referred also to the outcomes of the cooperation between the two countries in the European integration field, stressing its relevance in the process of reformation and modernization of Moldova. The ministers also discussed the necessity to strengthen the legal framework; in particular, the sides will boost the process of giving final touches to agreements in the justice and law and order, social security and recognizing the academic qualification in education.
Also, Andrei Galbur reiterated Moldova’s goals announced by the Moldovan delegation within participation in the 72nd General Assembly of the United Nations Organization in New York.
In 2017, Moldova and Cyprus mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries and the visit by the Cypriot diplomat to Chisinau fits into a string of events dedicated to this anniversary.
