Chisinau, 26 September /MOLDPRES/ - The laws repeatedly voted by the parliament last week have been submitted to the head of state for promulgation. Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu today made statements to this effect following a weekly meeting of the Democratic Party (PDM).
The official noted that those eight laws, earlier turned down by the president, were focused on subjects of major importance for Moldova. “These laws regard directly the Association Agreement with the European Union and are connected with the state’s security. The regulations refer also to the energy sector and will be for the benefit of the citizens; therefore, I signed the laws today and submitted them for promulgation,” Candu said.
The parliament speaker specified that the head of state is obliged to promulgate these laws the second time, and if he refuses to do this, the authorities will appeal to the Constitutional Court. “We believe that the president knows that he must observe his constitutional obligations. Nevertheless, no matter his answer, we will go up to the end,” Candu said.
Among the repeatedly voted laws, there are the law on energy, law on meal vouchers, law on the amendment and completion of the Labour Code, law on the prevention and fighting terrorism, law on Moldova’s state distinctions and another three laws on the amendment and completion of legislative acts.
