Moldovan deputy foreign minister attends regional forum

Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/- On a working visit to Vienna, Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Daniela Morari has participated in a regional forum “Diaspora Direct Investments - Experiences from the Western Balkans”, organized by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media relations service has reported.
Morari shared Moldova’s experience gained in the implementation of the EU-Moldova Mobility Partnership, especially, as regards the integration of migration into development, turning to good accounts the contribution of Moldovan communities from abroad to the development of the communities of origin, business opportunities to migrants back home, as well as programs to strengthen the diaspora’s entrepreneurial capabilities. Also, the regional forum aimed at considering the best practices and lessons learned in the implementation of similar initiatives in the Western Balkans.
The visit’s agenda also included a meeting with Katharina Wieser, Head of Department for Eastern Europe, South Caucasus, Central Asia, European Neighborhood Policy. The sides approached the latest developments in the implementation of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement, priorities for the Eastern Partnership Summit due in November 2017, as well as the key elements of the bilateral agenda.
