Moldovan cabinet initiates strengthening of institutional framework in migration, development sector

Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers, at a today’s meeting, approved the initiation of negotiations and signing of an Agreement between the Moldovan State Chancellery and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation on the implementation of a project titled, Consolidation of Moldova’s institutional framework in migration and development sector, the second phase.   

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the agreement’s goal is to strengthen the normative framework and mechanisms of coordination of policies in the fields of Diaspora, migration and development at the national and local levels, thus maximizing the migration’s impact on the social and economic development of Moldova.    

At the same time, the agreement backs the implementation of the action plan for the improvement of the mechanism of coordinating the state policy in the fields of Diaspora, migration and development, enhancing the human potential and attracting the financial potential of the Diaspora for Moldova’s development.   
In line with the Agreement’s provisions, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation will provide financial support, in installments, amounting to 4,019,295 lei.
