Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, in the beginning of a today’s cabinet meeting, drew attention to the unsatisfactory state of the Stefan cel Mare public garden from the centre of Chisinau, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM said the park is full of counters, booths, while the trees are in a lamentable state and the Alley of Classics is practically destroyed. “I do not thing it is room for these things in the central park. We do nothing but destroy this park, which is in the centre of the city,” Pavel Filip said.
Hence, the prime minister demanded that the Education, Culture and Research Ministry undertake firm actions for the protection of the cultural and historical monuments, one of which is the Stefan cel Mare public garden. At the same time, the PM warned other institutions with powers in the field, such as the General Police Inspectorate, National Agency for Food Safety, National Public Health Centre, State Tax Service, to make verifications. Additionally, a demand to this effect was submitted to the Chisinau city hall too.
