Moldovan government's reforms on backing business environment appreciated at world level

Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova has improved its position in the Global Competitiveness Report 2017-2018, recently published by the World Economic Forum, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Thus, according to the Global Competitiveness Index, Moldova went up by 11 degrees, from the 100th to the 89th position, out of the total number of 137 countries included in the report. Moldova’s progress was assessed as significant.
The improvement of Moldova’s position is due, in particular, to the improvement of the macroeconomic situation, as well as of the components dealing with the activity of states’ institutions, efficiency of public policies and the regulatory framework.
The Global Competitiveness Report is formed based on a general score, made up of 12 components. The latter include 114 indicators, calculated based on statistic data, other international indicators, as well as the data estimated on the basis of a yearly opinion poll conducted within the business environment. This year, 132 heads of enterprises from Moldova were questioned.
