Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/- The Joint Control Commission meeting which was chaired by the Russian delegation took place in Bender on 28 September. Three issues were on the agenda, according to sources in the Moldovan delegation to JCC.
Following a proposal by the OSCE Mission to Moldova, the JCC noted the intention of the mission’s representatives to visit the posts of the peacekeeping forces in the Security Zone on 1-30 October 2017, the Joint Military Command – on 11 October and the peacekeeping company of Russia, deployed in Dubasari city – on 18 October 2017.
The Moldovan delegation issued a request for admission to the flight of a helicopter to the Security Zone on 3 October 2017 in order to make some shooting at the home of composer Eugen Doga, born in Mocra village, Rabnita district, for a documentary film made on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the master.
This action has aroused heated discussions at the JCC meeting. Despite the fact that the delegation of the Russian Federation, the representatives of Ukraine and OSCE Mission to the JCC supported the request of the Moldovan delegation and the fact that the issue was discussed by the political representatives in the negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement on behalf of Chisinau and Tiraspol, who reached an agreement in principle, representatives of Tiraspol in the JCC strongly opposed to finding a positive solution.
Unfortunately, we must mention that in order to justify the refusal, Tiraspol’s representative in the JCC Oleg Beleakov invoked aberrant and unreal arguments, such as the fact that such actions would require “resuscitation” of the FMP helicopter squadron, currently in storage.
The commission also heard and approved two weekly reports on the situation in the Security Zone.
The next JCC meeting is scheduled for 5 October 2017.
