Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/- Soil frosts recorded over the last two days by the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) did not damage the agricultural sector, according to sources in the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment.
SHS stations recorded yesterday and today morning 0 -3 degrees in Braviceni, Camenca, Bravicea and Codrii. Meteorologists do not exclude that in the northern area of the country frosts have been in other localities but not monitored by SHS.
Mihail Grosu, a specialist in the Agriculture Ministry’s Phytotechnics Products Department informed that after the first frosts of autumn on the ground, no damage was reported to the agricultural producers. “We contacted profile departments in all the districts in the North Region of the country and there is no information that the first minus temperatures of this season would have affected the agricultural sector somehow. In fact, by late September, the main agricultural works that could be affected by frost are almost completed, especially, this year the first frosts do not present unusual phenomenon and are not dangerous”, the representative of the relevant ministry said.
SHS announced yellow code of frosts for 28 September-2 October, the first ones expected for the north. On 29 September-2 October, predicted frosts will spread over a larger part of the country, reaching to -3 degrees.
By late this week, the air temperatures of +13 +19 degrees are expected during the day and no precipitation, and +2 +9 degrees at night.

Thus, specialists announced that a mild autumn is expected in Eastern Europe, with a generous October, with many sunny days and warmer temperatures than usually recorded this month. A significant cold weather is expected at the end of the month. Heavy rainfall is also forecast for the last decade in October, except for the downtown area, where precipitation may fall throughout the reference period.
