Agreement on implementation of project "Consolidation of Moldova's institutional framework in migration and development" signed today

Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/- Secretary General of Government Lilia Palii and Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Moldova Simone Giger today signed an agreement on implementation of the project “Consolidation of Moldova's institutional framework in migration and development sector", the second stage, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The project aims at supporting Moldova’s priorities related to the consolidation of the positive impact of migration phenomenon on the social and economic development of the country, by strengthening the national and local institutional framework, involving the private sector and enhancing the diaspora commitment.

At the same time, the agreement is meant to ensure carrying out of measures scheduled in the activity programme of the Moldovan government for 2016-2018 and the strategic development programme of the State Chancellery for 2017-2019, through which the central and local public authorities implement appropriate public policies for the productive participation of the diaspora in Moldova’s development.

The agreement will ensure the implementation of the memorandum of understanding between the State Chancellery of Moldova and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation on the programme  on using migration potential in Moldova, signed in Chisinau on 17 May 2016.

Under the agreement, to implement the project, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation will provide financial support in installments maximum of 4,019,295 lei.
