U.S. Embassy back efforts to strengthen professional abilities of Moldovan governmental communicators

Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/ - The State Chancellery benefited from a training programme titled, Development of professional abilities of specialists in communication from Moldova’s government, during March-September, this year. The programme was carried out with support of the Embassy of the United States.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the project’s goal concerned the improvement of the professional abilities and powers of a team of governmental communicators involved in the communication and promotion of the reforms implemented by the cabinet.
Thus, over 30 communicators from ministries and other central administration authorities took knowledge of good international and local practices of communication. They had possibility to get theoretical and practical knowledge in strategic communication, PR and relations with mass media, internal communication, writing strategic messages, crisis communication, data visualization, social media, mail marketing and video communication.
During six months, within 11 workshops, seven international experts and five local trainers organized dynamic interactive sessions, focused on optimizing knowledge and development of abilities of specialists in communication within the central public institutions.
At a festivity of handing the diplomas of participation in the training programme, Government Secretary General Lilia Palii thanked the Government of the United States for the continuous assistance provided to implement the Moldovan cabinet’s reforms’ agenda.
“Moldova should not invent practices of communication in governmental institutions. The taking over of the best international practices represents a valuable investment in strengthening the professional abilities of governmental communicators,” Lilia Palii noted.
For his part, Ambassador James Pettit said the U.S. Embassy would continue supporting the government’s efforts to communicate about the reforms’ agenda. “Communication is one of the most important aspects of the diplomacy and is a responsibility of each government. It is important that all people understand why the hard work we do in order to advance in the implementation of the Association Agreement with EU will bring a positive change in their lives,” James Pettit said.
