Moldovan parliamentary platform on consultation, parliamentary control to carry out reintegration policy holds meeting

Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu today chaired a meeting of the parliamentary platform on consultation and parliamentary control for carrying out the policy of Moldova’s reintegration. Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Gheorghe Balan presented a report at the meeting, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The speaker said that it is important to identify a formula, in order to go in the format of five-plus-two negotiations till late 2017. “We expect the Moldovan government to come up with concrete proposals and for the benefit of the people,” the parliament speaker said.
The deputy prime minister for reintegration informed the lawmakers about the developments in the process of talks on the Transnistrian conflict settlement, as well as about the present difficulties on certain dimensions. In particular, the participants in the meeting discussed issues of the so-called Berlin plus package. Gheorghe Balan referred to meetings within sectoral working groups, as well as the one-plus-one meetings, held since the beginning of this year. The participants in the meeting also tackled subjects on the enforcement of the Free Trade Agreement with the European Union on all the territory of Moldova.
Attending the meeting was also a Moldovan president’s adviser, Vasile Sova, member of the platform of discussions. The platform was created in early 2017 to work out a common position of Chisinau on the Transnistrian issue.
About 330,000 citizens of Moldova presently live in the Transnistrian region.
