Moldovan PM, Kuwaiti ambassador discuss new possibilities to develop ties

Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/ - Opportunities to boost the Moldovan-Kuwaiti relations in fields of common interest were discussed at a today’s meeting between Prime Minister Pavel Filip and new Bucharest-based Ambassador of Kuwait to Moldova Talal Mansour Alhajeri, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The prime minister welcomed the visit to Chisinau by the diplomat, expressing confidence that his accreditation as ambassador to Moldova would give an impetus to the partnership between Moldova and Kuwait. “We want the relations between our countries become closer and closer. A very important trend in this respect is the economic cooperation,” the PM noted.
The officials agreed that, to better establish possibilities of cooperation and interaction between Moldova and Kuwait, a string of bilateral visits are to be organized, including by business people from the two countries. In the context, the Kuwaiti ambassador to Moldova highlighted more sectors of interest, including the one of roads, agriculture, food security and tourism.
Also, Talal Mansour Alhajeri said his country was open for deepening the relations with Moldova, including in order to implement projects on improving the living standards in the country through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
In the end of the meeting, Prime Minister Pavel Filip referred to opportunities provided by Moldova to foreign investors, including in the IT sector. Also, the PM invited Kuwaiti entrepreneurs to participate in the process of privatization in Moldova.
