Chisinau, 1 October /MOLDPRES/- Participants in the 13th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media, due in Chisinau on 4-8 October 2017, will be guests of old Bulgarian diaspora. Director of the Bulgarian news agency BTA Maxim Minchev made the statement in an interview with the State News Agency MOLDPRES.
Minchev said that Bulgarians in Moldova, even if they live in our country for a long time, have managed to preserve many Bulgarian traditions. “As we know, there is an official Bulgarian minority in Moldova. It was formed in the 19th century, still during the Russian Empire. Bulgarians already over 150 years feel good on the Moldovan land and have managed to keep their folklore, cuisine and our language. This is interesting, especially, today the globalization process seems to dominate the world”, he said.
The BTA director noted that the decision to come to Chisinau was very well received. “We think we are organizing the event in Moldova too late. During the meeting we will talk to representatives of our diaspora and will visit Taraclia where we will have a meeting at the University of this locality. I am sure that the meeting in Chisinau will be successful.
The World Forum of Bulgarian Media has been held since 2005. So far, the meeting took place in Sofia, Chicago, Rome, Madrid, Varna and Burgas, Vienna, Amsterdam and Bucharest, Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo, Bosilegrad, Athens and Prague.
In Chisinau the topic of the forum will be Community Policy. The event’s agenda will focus on issues such as: education, business science, free movement, knowledge and technology, tourism development and the role of media in shaping a society in which cohesion dominates the division. Also, there will be debates on contemporary changes and development of journalism worldwide.
The event will be inaugurated by Bulgaria’s Deputy Speaker Iliana Yotova. Attending the event will be also Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva, Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Vulchev, Defense Minister Krasimir Karakachanov, Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova, as well as members of the Bulgarian parliament.
