Moldovan president awards state order to Russian choreographer

Chisinau, 02 October /MOLDPRES/ – The head of state, Igor Dodon, met with the famous Russian choreographer, emeritus artist of the Russian Federation, Boris Eifman, artistic director of the State Ballet Theatre in St. Petersburg, today, the presidency’s press service has reported.
For 40 years, Boris Eifman has been the head of the theatre that bears his name. He is from Chisinau and is the author of over 40 worldwide famous shows, including Mozart's "Recievem", which the master staged 10 years ago, on the stage of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Chisinau.
In the dialogue, the parties discussed the need to preserve the common cultural heritage, need to preserve and develop cultural and artistic relations between Moldova and Russia. The head of state thanked Boris Eifman for his contribution to Moldovan – Russian common cultural treasure.
As a sign of great appreciation of the special merits in the development of choreography, for the contribution to the consolidation of the Moldovan – Russian cultural relations and the prodigious creation activity, Igor Dodon awarded Order of Honour to Boris Eifman.
