Moldovan deputy minister attends political dialogue on migration, development

Chisinau, 3 October /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Daniela Morari participated in the first issue of the Policy Dialogue on Migration and Development on 2 October, organized by the Development Centre of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (DEV/OECD), the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media relations service has reported.
The event brought together officials from over 20 states and representatives of international organizations. Morari moderated the thematic panel “Strengthening institutional coherence and policies on migration and development”.
Morari shared Moldova’s experience in implementing the EU-Moldova Mobility Partnership, especially, as regards the integration of migration into development, turning to good account the contributions of Moldovan communities from abroad in development of the communities of origin, as well as programmes to strengthen the entrepreneurial capacities of the diaspora.
The political dialogue provided an opportunity to exchange views on the mechanisms of development of an institutional framework to boost the contribution of migration policies to development. Also, the participants discussed the KNOMAD dashboard of indicators for measuring policy and institutional coherence for migration and development, jointly worked out by the OECD Development Centre, UNDP and World Bank, and shared their experience in implementing this initiative.
