Termoelectrica company ready to connect all consumers to centralized heating system

Chisinau, 3 October /MOLDPRES/- Termoelectrica Stock Company is ready to connect all consumers to the centralized heating system, at their request, without waiting for the decision of the city hall or other authorities, the company director-general Veaceslav Eni said today.
“The official decision of the city hall to start and end the heating season refers only to the institutions that are subordinated to it, as for the apartment buildings, connection is carried out at their request, he also said. He added “the connection procedure is very simple and can take up to 3 hours and can only be initiated at the request of the housing manager”.
The director-general also noted that two apartment buildings, hospital no.1 and seven economic agents were connected to the centralized heating system.
In summer, the heat supplier carried out modernization works at the former CET 2, repaired hundreds of individual thermal points and made maintenance of the 18 pumping stations. Termoelectrica installed more than 200 individual thermal points and restored 10 kilometers of thermal networks.
“For the first time, we started energy efficiency information this year. Our specialists have had meetings with consumers in over 200 blocks”, he said.
Eni noted that the total debts of the consumers are 860 million lei. “Connection has nothing to do with these debts, with no limitation period. We will continue to perform recovery actions,” he said. Some debts are rescheduled, the other part is in litigation, and some debtors are subject to forced execution. “The collection rate for consumer payments is currently 92 per cent”, he said.
The tariff for thermal energy delivered to consumers in Chisinau was increased by 5 per cent in March reaching 1,122 lei per Gcal. Adjustment of electricity and heating tariffs by 31 March 2017 to the level that would cover justified expenditure was a commitment by the authorities to the International Monetary Fund.
