According to the project, in the income tax item, it is foreseen to increase the taxable income tranches, as well as to increase the annual relief and annual relief for the persons maintained by adjusting them to the inflation rate projected for 2018 (6 per cent). This measure comes to reduce the effect of inflation on the incomes of the population.

In order to meet the EU's indirect tax rules, the fiscal policy provides for an increase in excise duty rates for petroleum, tobacco and alcohol products by adjusting to the projected inflation rate for 2020 (5 per cent) and setting them for a period of 3 years.

Regarding the exemption from value added tax and excise duty on imported goods, the project sets the maximum amount of €300 per person for the introduction of goods for non-commercial purposes in Moldova. For passengers using air transport and those using maritime transport, the financial threshold for travelers' goods will be €430.

The fiscal policy for 2018 will be submitted for approval to the Cabinet of Ministers and later to Parliament.
