Moldovan president, vice president of Bulgaria discuss bilateral relations, projects, initiatives

Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon and Vice President of Bulgaria Iliana Yotova discussed Moldovan-Bulgarian relations, projects and initiatives at a meeting in Chisinau today.
At a news conference, Igor Dodon said that the two countries had been cooperating for 25 years already. “We appreciate very much these nice friendship relations. Bulgaria is a devoted partner to Moldova, including in the commercial sector. Today, we discussed more political and social aspects, I mean the education field and the common challenges the two states are facing. We discussed also about the Bulgarian minority from Moldova and gave assurances that, following the parliamentary polls due in 2018, the Bulgarians from Taraclia will be represented in parliament by a lawmaker. Also, I said that the local Bulgarians will be ensured the observance of all rights, I refer especially to the right to study in the mother tongue,” the head of state said.
At the same time, Igor Dodon made an invitation to Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev to visit Moldova, along with a delegation of Bulgarian business people.
For her part, Vice President of Bulgaria Iliana Yotova noted that the two officials would participate in the 13th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media, due to be held in Chisinau. “After the inauguration of the event, we will pay a visit to Taraclia, during which we will discuss more in detail the situation of Bulgarians from Moldova and will sign an agreement concerning the university from this settlement. Also, tomorrow, we will meet the local Bulgarian communities,” the Bulgarian official added.
Also today, the vice president of Bulgaria had a meeting with Parliament Deputy Speaker Iurie Leanca and Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
