Moldova-EU Association Committee to hold meeting in October

Chisinau, 5 October /MOLDPRES/- The governmental commission for European integration held a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Pavel Filip to discuss the achievements recorded in implementing the EU-Moldova Association Agreement, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The talks focused on the preparation for the meeting of the EU-Moldova Association Committee, due in Chisinau on 19 October 2017. In this context, the premier asked the authorities to prepare thoroughly the information to be presented. At the same time, Filip stressed the need to improve the communication capacities between the institutions of Moldova and European partners in order to ensure their correct information about the promoted reforms.
Also, the participants in the meeting analyzed the developments on meeting the commitments assumed by Moldova in the sanitary and phytosanitary sector. In this context, Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Vasile Bitca said that in nine months of this year, ten Community acts have been transposed into national legislation, and other 11 documents are to be adjusted in the fourth quarter of 2017.
The premier also referred to the recent debates in the European parliament on the situation in Moldova. Filip said that MEPs noted that the situation in our country has improved, and supporters of Moldova have a bigger share. “We are strong only through the work we are doing to achieve the EU-Moldova Association Agreement and the assumed obligations”, he said.
