Bulgarian exhibition inaugurated at History Museum of Moldova

Chisinau, 5 October /MOLDPRES/ – The photojournalist exhibition titled "Born Free" was inaugurated at the National History Museum of Moldova today, during the 13th World Meeting of Bulgarian mass media.

The exhibition represents a project by BTA press agency of Bulgaria, Bulgarian National Library and University of Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria.

It brings together 23 boards that present the history of the Bulgarian press during the national revival period (60 – 70's of the 19th century). The images depict the aspiration towards freedom, spiritual and material fulfillment, which were expressed in the first newspapers and magazines published in Bucharest and Tarigrad by the Bulgarian progressive thinkers.

In the exhibition can be seen the newspapers of Liuben Karavelov – "Svoboda" (Freedom) and "Nezavisimost" (Independence), press of Hristo Botev – "Duma na bulgarskite emigranti" (The word of Bulgarian emmigrants), "Budilnik" (Alarm clock) "Zname" (Flag). Also, Gheorghi S. Rakovski's newspapers – "Branitel" (Defender) and "Badustnost" (Viitorul) – and Stefan Stambolov's publication "Nova Bulgaria" (New Bulgaria) are also exposed.

Similarly, pictures present the most famous Bulgarian intellectuals of those times.

The exhibition will function at the National History Museum of Moldova until 15 October.
