Moldovan farmlands owners to be able to build agro-tourism pensions on lands

Chisinau, 5 October /MOLDPRES/ – The landowners will be able to build agro-touristic hostels without having to change the destination of the lots. The provisions in that respect contain a draft amendment to the Land Code, adopted today in the first reading by the Legislature.
According to the project, the new regulations will have the right to benefit only landowners who practice agricultural activities for at least five years.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, who is the author of the project, hopes that once the accommodation facilities and table-service facilities are placed on farmland, they will create new opportunities for rural employment and development of wine tourism.
According to the cited source, rural tourism is the one oriented towards the use of local tourist resources, knowledge of the rural environment, local customs and traditions, peasant farms and farmers.
