Chisinau, 6 October /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today ratified an agreement between Moldova and Germany on social security, signed on 12 January 2017.
The document provides for ensuring a framework of social guarantees for the migrant workers from Moldova, who reside or/and carry out a labour activity on the territory of one or both contracting states.
Thus, the Moldovans who carried out a temporary labour activity in Germany, when reaching the retirement age, will be able to benefit from pension from this state. At the same time, on the period of work, Moldova’s citizens will be provided, if needed, with pensions of disability caused by common diseases, pensions and allowances of disability caused by labour accidents or professional diseases, as well as with survivor pensions.
Each contracting state will pay the part of pension calculated proportionally to the period of insurance carried out on its own territory, by enforcing the national legislation in the sector.
At the same time, the provisions of the agreement will create friendly conditions for the citizens from abroad to come back to Moldova, benefiting from pension from both states.
Moldova has signed similar agreements with another 11 states.
