Moldova hosts international polo tournament President's Cup for the first time ever

Chisinau, 6 October /MOLDPRES/ – President of the country Igor Dodon today participated in the opening of the International Water Polo Tournament "The President's Cup", which takes place for the first time in Moldova under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Moldova.
The event takes place at Specialized Sports School No.4 "Gheorghe Osipov" in Chisinau. The competition will be attended by five countries: Kazakhstan, Romania, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova.
"Sports is of major importance in the development and promotion of a state." Supporting such events is a priority for the presidential team and for me, in particular, as ancient philosophers say, "Mens sana in corpore sano", an affirmation valid for all time and, as we know, without a healthy and educated nation, you can not aspire to economic development and progress," said the head of state.
Igor Dodon wished success of our athletes in the aspirations to become victorious, considering they have got all chances on it.
"I am convinced that this tour will grow and become a beautiful tradition for Moldova's sports," said the President.
Earlier, the President of Moldova launched a national campaign for the construction of sports complexes in about 300 rural localities in Moldova. The project is scheduled for three years and does not involve attracting budget sources. Already 10 localities have been selected to benefit from this project by the end of this year.
