Premiers of Moldova, Ukraine express support for Moldovan-Ukrainian business partnerships

Chisinau, 6 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman today participated in an International Conference of Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises. This action ends one of the most important business events of the year, Moldova Business Week 2017, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The Moldovan PM welcomed the participation of his Ukrainian counterpart and the delegation which accompanies him in the forum, highlighting the friendly relations between the two states and the very good dialogue. Pavel Filip noted that Ukraine was one of the most important trade partners of Moldova. In January-July 2017, the bilateral commerce increased by 30 per cent against the same period of the year before. At the same time, 1,128 enterprises with Ukrainian capital are recorded in Moldova.
In this context, the Moldovan prime minister stressed the opportunity of holding the forum and its usefulness in identifying the barriers faced by business people and solutions to overcome them. “I voice hope that our countries will further develop projects within the already existing economic partnership and will take sustained efforts to remove eventual obstacles,” Pavel Filip said.
At the same time, Prime Minister Pavel Filip emphasized that the government would remain a pro-business one, so that it could make as many as possible social investments: “Moldova needs investors, as Moldova needs jobs. We will remain as open as before and we will be a government which is a friend to the business; we will prove that we are your business partner.”
For his part, the Ukrainian prime minister expressed satisfaction to pay a visit to Moldova for the first time ever and appreciated the good relations between the two countries.
“Our strength consists in good relations, in cooperation. Moldova is a very good economic partner for Ukraine and our task is to ensure the integration of the infrastructure. We will continue improving also the investment climate, in order to favour the further development of the trade,” Volodymyr Groysman said.
Also, the two PMs urged business environment’s representatives to work more for the good of both states, stressing that Moldova and Ukraine had similar priorities and the future of the two states is in the European Union.
