Three sections of Chisinau-based health care institute renovated with Romania's support

Chisinau, 17 October /MOLDPRES/ – The sections of radiology and imaging, functional diagnosis and endoscopy at the Mother and Child Institute in Chisinau were inaugurated today, after being renovated from a donation stipulated by Romania.
The festive event was attended by the Minister of Health, Labour and Social Protection, Stela Grigoras, Director of the Institute of Mother and Child, IMSP, Sergiu Gladun, as well as medical institution’s representatives.
The works in renovated sections were financed by the Romanian Government from the budget of the Official Assistance for Development managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bucharest and are part of the project of renovation, rehabilitation and endowment with maternity equipment and pediatric department of the Mother and Child Institute.
According to the Institute director, Sergiu Gladun, almost 25 thousand radiological investigations, 900 radiographs, 850 urethroscopes, 900 urographs, over 10 thousand thoracic examinations and 5 thousand abdominal cavity examinations are performed in section of radiology and imaging every year.
The functional diagnostic section has five halls where there are done around 20 thousand examinations. The doctors in endoscopy department do more than 4 thousand investigations yearly.
According to the data presented by the Embassy of Romania in Moldova, the total amount of the investment for the renovation of the sections of the Mother and Child Institute was about €210 thousand, including furniture.
